Thanksgiving day
has come and gone
but thankfulness
is always on our lips
Praising our Lord
and Savior
all day long
this morning we
stepped outside
and as I stood looking
up at the star filled sky
with wisps of clouds
floating by
an hour before sunrise
wrapped in a warm soft black robe
feeling the cold air on my cheeks
I thanked the Lord
for health to walk out and gaze at
His beautiful star filled sky
with eyes to see it all
Thanking the Lord for a warm home
filled with love
of family
as my husband walked
gripping a garbage bag in his
strong hand down the hill
to gate under the stars this morning
warm inside his leather jacket
hat upon his head
sounds of dog barking
rooster crowing and
coyote howling in the distance
today awaits us
may we cloth ourselves with
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness
and patience. Forgiving one another
as Christ forgave us, covering all these
virtues with love, binding them all
together in perfect unity.
